The Alliance was pleased to attend the 3rd Open Ancient Capital Congress of Cardiology in Hue, central Vietnam on 27 April 2024 at the kind invitation of Prof Huynh Van Minh, President, Vietnam National Heart Association.

We signed two MOUs and welcomed our first two partners in Vietnam: the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hue UMP) and the Thua Thien Hue Cardiovascular Association.

Presenting the Alliance report A Call for Cohesive Action: Redefining Cardiovascular Care in the Asia-Pacific at the plenary session, Dr N Krishna Reddy highlighted that it was crucial for all healthcare professionals – cardiologists, public health professionals, family medicine – to work together in reducing premature deaths from CVD.  Reducing hospitalizations and slowing the growth of new CVD patients was also essential to ensure a sustainable health system moving forward.
